See Results and Photos: Townsville Judo Juniors Shine at 2026 State Championships in Brisbane

Published: 6/4/2026

Three of our Townsville Judo juniors travelled to Brisbane to compete in the Judo Queensland 2026 State Championships on 28 March - their first time stepping onto the mat at a state-level competition.

It was a fantastic experience and result for our athletes, with all three finishing on the podium!

Results

  • 🥇 Harry – Gold (U13/Under 54kg)

  • 🥇 Alexis – Gold (U15/Under 60kg)

  • 🥉 Mila – Bronze (U13/Under 38kg)

Competing at this level for the first time is no small step and we are incredibly proud of the way each of them represented Townsville Judo and North Queensland - showing courage, determination and respect throughout the day.

Building Confidence Through Competition

At Townsville Judo Club, we believe that competition is about more than just results. It’s an opportunity for our athletes to challenge themselves, build confidence and grow both on and off the mat.

Experiences like the Judo QLD State Championships help our juniors develop resilience, sportsmanship and a deeper understanding of the sport - all while being part of a supportive team environment.

Travelling from North Queensland to compete in Brisbane is a big commitment and we’d like to thank our families for their ongoing support. We’re excited to see what’s ahead for these athletes and others as they continue their judo journeys.

Congratulations again to Harry, Alexis and Mila - a fantastic achievement and a great representation of Townsville Judo Club.
