Membership and Enrolments

Starting your judo journey is easy, with only two simple steps between you and the mats.

Step 1: Become a Member

  • Signup includes membership with Townsville Judo Club (once-off $50 fee) and mandatory membership with Judo Australia / Judo Queensland (renewed every 12 months) which provides essential insurance and access to gradings and competitions.

    Judo Queensland sits underneath Judo Australia which is the National Sporting Organisation for the sport of Judo in Australia, recognised by the Australian Sports Commission.

    TOWNSVILLE JUDO CLUB JOINING FEE:
    $50 Once-off

    JUDO QLD FEES:
    Juniors (5-15 years) $100/year
    Seniors (16+) $150/year

    OTHER FEES AFTER SIGNING UP:

    Class Fees: Once you’re a member, you can enrol in classes. For more information on class fees, please see Step 2.

    Uniforms: Judogis can be purchased when signing up. The cost is $80 which includes the jacket, pants and belt. You are welcome to skip this and wear your own gi, if you have one already.

    Club T-shirts: You’ll be given a white club t-shirt upon signup. Black club shirts are available for purchase for $30 as an optional extra when signing up.

Step 2: Sign Up for Classes

    JUNIOR CLASS FEES:

    • “MonStars” aka “Mons” (6-8yrs):
      Term Fee: $160 ($8 per lesson)

    • Juniors (9-15yrs):
      Term Fee: $180 ($9 per lesson)

      Please note: The age groups listed are intended as a guide only. Our coaches may use their discretion to determine the best fit for your child based on maturity, experience/skill level and physical development. Usually no classes during school holidays or public holidays. Monday classes that fall on ‘Pupil Free Days’ will continue as scheduled.

    SENIOR CLASS FEES:

    • Unlimited Term Pass: $300 ($8.33/lesson)
      Includes 3 classes per week for 10 weeks (Tuesday and Thursday regular classes and Friday randori session) AND includes training during the holidays at the end of each term (2 weeks).

    • 10-Class Flexi Pass: $150 ($15/lesson)
      Can be used for any class type during term or holidays. Coaches will sign off a tracking chart at the dojo after each visit. Valid for 6 months.

    Recommended age 15+. Senior classes may continue during school holidays (based on demand and coach availability).

Did you know we offer a family discount?

Immediate family members of full-paying term members (Senior or Junior) are eligible for a $20 discount on their term fees. Eg. If a father pays Senior Term Fees and his children enrol, his children are each eligible for a $20 discount every term that their father is a current member.
