Toni Edkins has been practising judo for 42 years, on and off, after first beginning her journey in South Africa. She was awarded her black belt in 1997 and the following year was invited to compete at the Student World Games in Prague.

In 2000, Toni qualified for the South African Olympic Squad, a testament to her dedication and skill, though she chose to decline the opportunity. For Toni, the most rewarding part of judo has always been the people she meets along the way. Now based in Townsville, she is grateful to be part of the Townsville Judo Club team of coaches (and Club President!), sharing her knowledge and passion for the sport she loves.
