Meet
Peter Shepherd
Peter Shepherd began his judo journey in 1973 at the age of 15. In 1982, he was graded to Sho Dan (1st Dan) under the Queensland United Black Belt Association (QUBBA).
Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Peter trained and assisted in teaching judo at several QUBBA-affiliated clubs across Queensland, including Ipswich, Brisbane Sports School (Coorparoo), Everton Park, Capalaba, Yeronga, and Woodridge.
In 2000, Peter relocated to the Northern Territory where he joined the Darwin PCYC Judo Club (JFA/NT). He later moved to Townsville, Queensland, where he became actively involved with the Castle Hill PCYC Judo Club, contributing as a coach and mentor.
Peter has a longstanding passion for judo and has spent decades contributing to the sport both as a practitioner and a coach.
