Updates to Junior Judo Classes in Term 3, 2025

As we prepare for Term 3, we'd like to share some important updates about our junior program, including new class structures, adjusted fees and a few upcoming events.

Term 3 Dates

First class: Monday 14 July | Last class: Wednesday 17 September

New Class Structure & Fees

From Term 3, we’ll be offering two children's class groups which will allow us to:

  • Tailor class content more effectively to each age group’s needs and learning style

  • Provide a more age-appropriate learning environment

  • Support each student to develop at their own pace

The below fees reflect a carefully considered increase to help us cover rising operating costs and deliver the best programs possible, while remaining affordable. We're pleased to offer what we still consider great value at $8 to $9 per lesson.

Class 1: "MonStars" aka "Mons" (6-8 yrs)
Time:
4:00pm – 5:00pm on Mondays and Wednesdays
Term Fee: $160 ($8 per lesson)
What to expect: A play-based class introducing specific judo techniques and principles delivered through fun, age appropriate games and activities. "MonStars" (or "Mons") is a name commonly used for this age division across Judo Australia affiliated clubs.

Class 2: "Juniors" (9-15 yrs)
Time:
5:15pm – 6:30pm on Mondays and Wednesdays (Time extended - now 1hr 15mins)
Term Fee: $180 ($9 per lesson)
What to expect: Advanced juniors class introducing more complex skillsets, fitness drills and preparation for judo competition.

Please note: The age groups listed are intended as a guide only. Our coaches may use their discretion to determine the best fit for your child based on maturity, experience/skill level and physical development.

Other Fee Changes

Family Discount: Our family discount will be adjusted to ensure we can offer high-quality classes at an affordable rate for all members. The discount for each additional child will be $20 per term.

Judogis:
Our judo uniform sets will increase from $70 to $80 (includes the jacket, pants and belt)

Gradings: The cost for gradings will be $30 (includes new belt and official Judo Australia Grading Certificate)
